Job summary

Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District in Minnesota is hiring a seasonal Construction Inspector to support permitting and field inspections from May to October. The role involves site inspections, permit database management, and monthly reporting under the Regulatory Program Coordinator.

Ideal candidates are students or graduates in civil engineering or related fields with knowledge of plan sets, erosion control, and MS Office; ArcGIS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Ability to read civil engineering plan sets (grading, utility, removal).
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with ArcGIS.
• Knowledge of NPDES small site construction and SWPPP development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site inspections of permitted construction sites.
• Assist with updating and managing the permit database and inspection reports.
• Prepare monthly inspection reports and related documentation.
• Support regulatory program outreach and customer service to staff, builders, and the public.
• Perform fieldwork and participate in staff projects as needed.
