Qualifications

  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR/AED and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct organized, age-appropriate practices and training sessions.
  • Teach fundamental skills, strategies, rules, and techniques of the sport.
  • Develop student-athletes physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Promote Catholic values, including integrity, service, respect, humility, and responsibility.
  • Serve as a positive Christian role model for student-athletes.
  • Encourage academic achievement and responsible behavior both on and off the field/court.
  • Establish clear expectations for conduct, attendance, effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team activities.
  • Coordinate with athletic department staff, school administrators, teachers, parents, and other coaches.
  • Maintain accurate team records, schedules, equipment inventories, and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with school, diocesan, league, and state athletic policies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team environment.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians.
  • Attend required meetings, training, professional development, and school activities.
  • Properly maintain and secure athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Perform other duties related to the coaching position as assigned.

Job Summary

The Catholic High School Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring student-athletes while supporting the school’s Catholic mission and values. Job Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the sport being coached.
  • Previous coaching or competitive athletic experience preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for adolescents.
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Current CPR/AED and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Successful completion of required background screening and child-safety training.
  • Ability to meet all applicable diocesan, school, state, and athletic-association requirements.
