Job summary

UIC Bowhead Transport, LLC seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance, operation, and repair of all engineering systems aboard company vessels. Responsibilities include propulsion, power generation, electrical, HVAC, and deck equipment maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.

The role may involve supervising staff, supporting training initiatives, and maintaining records for regulatory compliance, with a seasonal schedule of 6–8 months and peak work periods during August to October.

Qualifications

• USCG Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) license rated for 4,000 HP with STCW-95 endorsement.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer aboard vessels with hands-on maintenance expertise.
• Experience with propulsion systems, electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems, and deck equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and repairs of all engineering systems.
• Possibly supervise engineering crew and assist with training.
• Collect and compile vessel maintenance statistics and ensure safety compliance.
