Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas in Irving, TX seeks a qualified Seasonal Certified Surgical Technologist for a temporary position with a start date in late September through the end of 2026.

The Scrub Tech will scrub on all types of procedures under supervision, maintain sterile fields, manage instruments, and participate in a rotating call system to ensure continuous patient services.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior verifiable experience as a scrub technician in the OR prior to 2009.
• Certification in OR Technology as a (C-SA or C-ST) required.
• BLS required.
• Previous clinical experience in Operating Room environment desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides surgical scrub for all types of procedures under supervision.
• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for procedures.
• Applies knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies used in the OR.
• Organizes instruments and supplies for efficient access.
• Rotational call system to ensure continuous patient services.
• Follows guidelines to maintain sterile fields and prepare instruments.
• Re-stocks OR supplies as caseload permits.
• Identifies and corrects errors to improve quality and safety.

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is seeking a qualified Seasonal Certified Surgical Technologist!

• This is a Temporary Seasonal Position. Potential Start date: Late September, throughout the end of 2026*

Certified Surgical Technologist/Operating Room Technician at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:

• Under the general supervision of the OR Supervisor, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Scrub Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence.
• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
• Applies specialized knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
• Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
• Utilizes appropriate lines of accountability for the continuous improvement of quality.
