Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas in Irving, TX is seeking a Seasonal Certified Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams.

This temporary position offers exposure to a range of procedures with RN supervision, sterile technique responsibilities, and a potential start date in late September through the end of 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience as a scrub technician in an OR setting.
• Certification in OR Technology (C-SA or C-ST) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Familiarity with sterile technique and asepsis.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for all major and minor surgeries under RN supervision.
• Set up and maintain sterile field for procedures.
• Handle instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Organize instruments and supplies for efficiency in the OR.
• Participate in rotating call system to ensure continuous coverage.
• Maintain sterile field and instrument readiness for designated procedures.
• Restock operating room supplies as caseload permits.
• Identify and correct errors in own or team work; support quality improvement.

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is seeking a qualified Seasonal Certified Surgical Technologist!

*This is a Temporary Seasonal Position. Potential Start date: Late September, throughout the end of 2026*

Certified Surgical Technologist/Operating Room Technician at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:

• Under the general supervision of the OR Supervisor, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Scrub Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence.
• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
• Applies specialized knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
• Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
• Utilizes appropriate lines of accountability for the continuous improvement of quality.

Licensure/Certification:

• Prior verifiable experience as a scrub technician on the OR setting prior to 2009

Or

• Certification in OR Technology as a (C-SA or C-ST)required.
• BLS required.
