Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking temporary Snowplow drivers with heavy equipment operation experience for winter road maintenance in Missoula and surrounding areas. The role involves snow removal, right-of-way maintenance, fence and sign repairs, traffic control, and salt brine production.

Shifts vary 4 or 8 hours, with potential weekend/holiday work and a season from mid-November to March depending on weather.

Qualifications

• Valid Montana CDL Class A, Type II with no restrictions, tank endorsement and MEC.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and heavy equipment for winter road maintenance.
• Perform snow removal, maintain right of way, fix guardrail and fences, service signs and luminaires.
• Assist with traffic control and salt brine production as needed.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather and handle physical tasks.
