Job summary

Roger's Gardens is seeking a Seasonal Holiday Cashier to provide friendly, efficient checkout service during the busy season. You will process purchases, assist customers, and ensure accuracy at a designated cash station.

Card and cashless payments are common, with cash settlement at the station when applicable. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions, handling returns, and keeping the checkout area clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; previous cashiering experience required.
• Basic cashiering skills and ability to operate a register and payment equipment accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter purchases into the register and verify prices and applicable discounts.
• Process card and other approved cashless payments; direct customers paying cash to the designated cash station.
• Handle cash and provide correct change only when assigned to the designated cash station.
• Greet customers warmly and provide courteous, helpful service throughout checkout.
• Answer customer questions or seek assistance from the appropriate team member.
• Assist with returns and reprice returned merchandise according to company procedures.
• Follow company policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area.
• Work well with coworkers and perform other related duties assigned by management.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide friendly, efficient checkout service during the holiday season. Accurately process purchases and assist customers in a busy retail environment. Cash is accepted only at one designated station; most cashiers process cashless payments. Daily cash reconciliation is not required for this position.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately enter purchases into the register and verify prices and applicable discounts.
• Process card and other approved cashless payments; direct customers paying cash to the designated cash station.
• Handle cash and provide correct change only when assigned to the designated cash station.
• Greet customers warmly and provide courteous, helpful service throughout checkout.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and learn product codes, prices, and register procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required paperwork accurately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous cashiering experience required.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Temporary seasonal positions both full and part time for the holidays. Shifts vary: 9:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:30 p.m.
