Job summary

Galileo Learning is seeking an experienced Camp Director for the San Francisco Twin Peaks/Noe Valley location. You will lead a dynamic seasonal team, manage program quality, and serve as the public face of the camp, ensuring joyful, safe experiences for campers and families.

You will launch and operate the camp, oversee staff training, scheduling, and payroll, and uphold Galileo’s mission. This role requires strong communication with families and partners and a proven track record in education

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children and building trust with families.
• Proven experience setting clear expectations, giving ongoing feedback, and coaching staff to improve.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational details like scheduling, staffing, and payroll.
• Strong written and verbal communication with families, partners, and supervisors.
• Availability for part-time remote work starting Feb 2026, and full-time on-site work starting June 2026 (dates vary by location).
• Willingness to travel in the region to up to 3 in person marketing events, in the preseason.

Responsibilities

• Lead the camp operations from preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Oversee daily camp operations and parent communication while delivering an exceptional program.
• Train and mentor staff (7 to 40 people) and manage payroll and scheduling.
• Build a safe, inclusive environment and strong partnerships with families and community partners.
• Use the Galileo Innovation Approach to turn challenges into opportunities and maintain alignment with the mission.
