Job summary

Mason, Bruce & Girard, Inc. seeks ambitious Botanists to support field surveys and technical reporting for projects across the Pacific Northwest, starting Fall 2026.

As part of the Environmental Services Group, you will conduct botany fieldwork, coordinate with project managers, and draft portions of technical memos while traveling as needed. The position welcomes candidates with varying backgrounds in wetland or rare plant work.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, or closely related natural resource field required.
• 1 year of botanical fieldwork experience required.
• Understanding of and experience with field survey procedures and protocols related to botany.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic technical writing and editing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable using 4WD in off pavement conditions.
• Ability to hike in uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct botanical surveys within the Pacific Northwest.
• Overnight travel.
• Record notes and documentation throughout fieldwork.
• Provide background research and draft portions of technical memos.
• Act in a supporting role to project managers and prepare project deliverables within allotted level of effort and schedule.
