Job summary

PCiRoads, a subsidiary of C. S. McCrossan, seeks a Boom Operator to operate cranes and support road construction in Minnesota. Travel is required; safety and inspections are essential daily duties.

You will read load charts, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain equipment while following OSHA/DOT policies. Benefits are provided through the union and the work season runs April–November.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• General knowledge of heavy highway construction and equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom truck/crane to lift and place materials in tight spaces.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of truck and rigging gear.
• Secure loads using rigging techniques and follow site supervisor instructions.
• Read load charts, calculate crane capacities, and comply with safety rules.
• Maintain and report mechanical faults; follow OSHA and DOT policies.
• Work in varied weather and traffic conditions; travel to job sites.
