Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a temporary, non-exempt Christmas Bell Ringer to work Monday through Saturday at various Tacoma-area sites. The role involves standing outdoors, ringing a bell to solicit donations, greeting donors, and following Salvation Army policies.

Shifts can extend up to 40 hours weekly with an approximate start date of November 14 and end by December 24. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, with at least six months of related experience

• A minimum of six months related experience preferred.
• No formal education or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors a kettle at an assigned location; keeps kettle from being unattended and ensures security of funds.
• Greets the public in a courteous and friendly manner and thanks donors.
• Follows the ministry of The Salvation Army in duties and in line with its principles.
• Rings the bell outside stores to solicit charitable donations in various weather conditions.
• Relieves previous staff promptly and may stay after shift to meet schedule commitments.
