Job summary

Des Plaines Park District is hiring a Cashier/Batting Cage Attendant in Des Plaines, IL. This seasonal position supports guest services, operates the batting cages, and processes admissions and concessions with a friendly, customer-first approach.

Ideal candidates will have some high school coursework, basic money handling experience, and willingness to obtain required certifications (First Aid, CPR/AED, Food Handler) after employment. Seasonal ending Oct 31.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Money handling experience is recommended, POS experience preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certifications; Food Handler Training Certificate required after employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide information on Park District activities.
• Enter all transactions into POS system and issue receipts.
• Balance cash drawer at end of each shift and complete required paperwork.
• Prepare concession food and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Operate and clean food preparation equipment.
• Respond to emergencies in the facility and protect guest safety.
• Maintain batting cage area and surrounding sites during shifts.
• Organize batting cage materials (helmets, bats) and related equipment.
• Clean work areas at shift end and restock as needed.
• Work as part of a team and accommodate flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
