Job summary

Des Plaines Park District is seeking a Mt. View Lead Associate for the Mountain View Adventure Center. This seasonal role requires cash handling, admissions, and supervising concession and batting cage staff to ensure smooth operations.

You will balance cash, operate POS systems, and maintain safety and cleanliness, while delivering exceptional guest service. Must be 18+, with CPR/First Aid certified or obtained after hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to work flexible shifts.
• Experience handling cash and operating POS systems preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications; food handler training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate as frontline staff at Mountain View Adventure Center, handling cash and admissions.
• Supervise concession and batting cage attendants; ensure duties are performed per policy.
• Balance cash drawer, complete reports, and prepare deposits.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of concession and food prep areas.
• Provide accurate information to patrons and respond to emergencies.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Revenue Facilities Manager
Supervises: Concession Attendants and Batting Cage Attendants

BASIC FUNCTION

Associate operates as Mountain View Adventure Center frontline staff including cash control, admitting customers into the mini golf and batting cage facilities, and customer and part-time employee supervision. Must be at least 18 years of age. This is a seasonal position ending October 31st

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Implement measures that ensure the smooth day-to-day Cash, Concession and batting cage operations.
• Supervise concession and batting cage attendants to ensure duties are performed in an outstanding manner as required by their job descriptions.
• Enforce all facility rules and District policies and procedures.
• Ensures cash control policies and procedures are followed.
• Balance cash drawer at end of each shift, complete all required paperwork and prepare the deposit
• Prepare concession food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Responsible for operating and cleaning food preparation equipment.
• Answer phone calls and provide accurate information.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness of the food preparation and concession area.
• Control inventory of food, drink and other supplies.
• Take control of and act decisively in emergency situations, responding calmly and quickly under pressure.Administer first aid when needed. Complete necessary reports.
• Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service.
• Promote positive teamwork environment for all staff.
• Communicate staff and facility issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evening and weekend hours.

OTHER DUTIES

• Attend all pre-season training.
• Inform all staff of any changes in policy, procedure, or rules as handed down by the Revenue Facilities Manager
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.
• Assist with special events as necessary
• Direct patrons in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather
• Additional duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School Classwork
• Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older. Cash handling experience preferred. General knowledge of Point of Sales systems.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, classes available through Park District upon hire
• Food Handler Training Certificate required following employment.
