Job summary

CGB Enterprises Inc. is seeking a general laborer to load and unload barges and trucks at our industrial facility. The role involves preparing barges, performing deckhand duties, maintaining grain quality, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

You will participate in the Safety Program, operate heavy equipment, document records, and work rotating 12-hour shifts. The position requires teamwork, basic math, and strong communication to support efficient grain handling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or combined education/experience.
• Minimum 1 year in an industrial environment with reliable work history.
• Basic arithmetic skills (add/sub/mult/div).
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Perform deckhand duties: read drafts, open/close lids, tie off barges.
• Load barges to meet draft and quality requirements; supervise others.
• Transfer and move grain; maintain quality during storage/transfer.
• Operate and monitor heavy equipment; perform maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Unload barges, load trucks/rail and document records timely.
