Misericordia in Chicago is seeking a Seasonal Bakery Packaging Associate to support the bakery packaging, shipping, and event operations during the holiday season. The role involves supervising volunteers, maintaining cleanliness, and helping keep the workspace organized and sanitary.

You will gain hands-on experience in bakery production and packaging while contributing to delivering quality products to customers and supporters. The position is temporary and limited to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment commonly used in a food service environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, and other departments.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise volunteers in the bakery packaging and shipping departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the packaging area at all times.
• Keep the dish area clean and ensure cleaning utensils are processed through the dishwasher as needed.
• Remove garbage throughout the shift as required.
• Transport dirty bakery linens to the laundry area at the end of each shift.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of special events.
• Leave all work areas clean, neat, and organized at the conclusion of each shift.
• Perform additional duties and assignments as needed.
