Job summary

Barnstable is seeking a skating instructor to support its Learn to Skate program. You will be responsible for delivering instruction in accordance with LEARN TO SKATE USA, USFS, PSA and HYCC standards, while prioritizing safety and participant wellbeing.

The role requires CPR/First Aid certification, active memberships in Learn to Skate USA, USFS and PSA, plus liability insurance and current CER certificates. A positive attitude and ability to supervise activities are essential.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Membership to Learn to Skate USA as an instructor.
• Membership to USFS and PSA required.
• Liability insurance certificate and current CER certificates.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Learn to Skate USA program per USFS/PSA and HYCC standards.
• Ensure participant safety and well‑being during activities.
• Follow Town of Barnstable philosophies and HYCC guidelines.
• Maintain positive, encouraging environment for all skaters.

Job description

An individual who is responsible for the safety and well-being of participants in a recreational activity. Instruct HYCC skating school Learn to Skate program in accordance with LEARN TO SKATE USA, USFS, PSA and HYCC standards, with the philosophies set forth by the Town of Barnstable. This is identified as a Professional Position.

Minimum Qualifications:

CPR / First Aid certified, Membership to Learn to Skate USA as an instructor, Membership to USFS, Membership to PSA, Liability Insurance Certificate, CER Current Certificates, Experience supervising activities, Good positive attitude.
