Job summary

ConocoPhillips invites applications for a Mess Person aboard Polar Tankers. You will assist the Steward and Cook, ensure galley cleanliness, take meal orders, and help with basic food preparation.

This safety-sensitive role requires handling of supplies, joining emergency drills, and serving meals during 12-hour days with overtime as needed. Ideal candidates hold MMC with FH endorsement and TWIC, are US-authorized, and can be away at sea for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a U.S. Passport.
• Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with FH endorsement and TWIC.
• Willing to be away from home for extended sea tours (65–85 days).
• Physically able to push/pull up to 25 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of the Steward and Cook; assist galley operations.
• Clean and sanitize decks and galley areas; wash dishes and store supplies.
• Help with meal preparation and basic food prep tasks.
• Take orders and serve meals to crew.
• Participate in all safety drills and shipboard training.
• Be on duty for 12-hour days with overtime up to 4 hours.
