Job summary

REGENT is seeking a Vehicle Test Engineer to plan and execute sea and air test activities, translating engineering objectives into structured test plans and safe field operations. You will work with senior test engineers and cross-functional teams to drive the Seagliders from prototypes toward reliable transportation systems.

You will participate in test events on water and in air, analyze results, and help steer the next iteration, all while upholding rigorous safety practices and collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle testing or hardware development across UAV, aerospace, maritime, automotive, robotics, or related fields.
• Hands-on engineering experience with hardware, vehicles, instrumentation, or prototype systems.
• Strong safety mindset with hazard analysis and risk management.
• Experience supporting flight test, marine test, or other vehicle development programs.
• Familiarity with data acquisition/telemetry systems and sensor instrumentation.
• Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or similar data analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience with marine vessels, aircraft systems, robotics, or high-energy systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute sea and air test events, preparing vehicles, test infrastructure, and instrumentation.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and test cards with clear objectives and data needs.
• Coordinate with design, controls, structures, propulsion, and systems teams to align tests with goals.
• Manage test readiness activities, vehicle configuration checks, instrumentation setup, and field logistics.
• Monitor telemetry, observe anomalies, and support troubleshooting during tests.
• Analyze test data and generate post-test reports to guide iterations.
• Contribute to safety processes including hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Support field testing around marine vessels, aircraft systems, propulsion, and other high-energy hardware.
