Job summary

REGENT seeks a Vehicle Test Engineer to plan and execute sea and air test activities for Seagliders, advancing prototypes toward reliable coastal transportation systems.

You will work with design, controls, structures, propulsion, and systems teams to align test objectives with engineering goals and contribute to data-driven iterations. The role blends hands-on testing with safety-focused processes in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with testing across UAV, aerospace, maritime, automotive, robotics, or related fields.
• Hands-on engineering experience with hardware, vehicles, instrumentation, or prototypes.
• Strong safety mindset with hazard analysis / risk management experience.
• Experience supporting flight, marine, robotics, or other vehicle development programs.
• Familiarity with data acquisition, telemetry, or sensor instrumentation.
• Experience scripting or analyzing data with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with marine vessels, aircraft systems, robotics platforms, or high-energy systems.
• Prior field testing experience and troubleshooting hardware in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute sea and air test events; prepare vehicles, test infrastructure, and instrumentation.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and test cards with clear objectives and data needs.
• Coordinate with design, controls, structures, propulsion, and systems teams to align tests with goals.
• Manage test readiness: vehicle configuration checks, instrumentation setup, field logistics.
• Participate in real-time test operations: monitor telemetry, record observations, troubleshoot issues.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to generate post-test reports for engineering decisions.
• Contribute to safety processes: hazard identification, risk assessments, test procedures.
• Support field testing around marine vessels, aircraft systems, propulsion, and high-energy hardware.
