Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Seafood Receiver to join our warehouse team. You will verify incoming goods, log items, and move them to the stock area. The start wage is $18 per hour with a Sun-Thur schedule.

Responsibilities include checking bills of lading, inspecting for damage and expiration, operating a powered industrial vehicle, and maintaining accurate records. We value teamwork, reliability, and safety in a fast-paced food service environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).

Responsibilities

• Receives goods onto dock from delivery trucks and transfers to the receiving area.
• Properly identifies items and validates received quantities.
• Logs and issues materials to the stockroom, warehouse, or other designated location.
• Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
• Checks goods for damage and expiration dates.
• Identifies and accounts for all histamine products (seafood only).
• Sorts, counts, and checks received items.
• Maintains required clerical records and completes housekeeping activities.
• Operates warehouse equipment to move goods to storage areas and places in designated locations.
• Identifies damaged packaging and/or possible cross contaminated products.
• Performs returns.
• Maintains and rotates cooler and freezer (USDA only).
• Inventory control (USDA only).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting at: $18/hr. Schedule: Sun-Thur 12:00pm to Finish

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
