Job summary

Halperns’ Steak & Seafood in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Seafood Puller to accurately and efficiently select Halperns’ products to fulfill customer orders.

You will operate RF devices, handle pallet jacks, and contribute to on-time shipping in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to read labels, and a positive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Reads/order selecting in a fast paced environment.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Reads batches of printed case labels to select orders accurately.
• Retrieves product from designated selection slot.
• Uses RF scanner to scan products for catch weights or inventory identification.
• Affixes labels to cases correctly.
• Operates pallet jack to move products.
• Delivers product to shipping lane promptly.
• Removes empty pallets and places them in pallet storage.
• Moves loads using pallets, forklifts or related equipment.
• Takes inventory on the floor and supplies materials as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting Halperns’ products to fulfill customer orders.

Essential Functions:

• Reads batches of printed case labels to select customer orders in an efficient and accurate manner.

• Retrieves product from designated selection slot.

• Uses radio frequency scanner to scan products for catch weights or inventory identification.

• Affixes label to the case in the appropriate manner and location.

• Uses a pallet jack and places product on pallets.

• Selects work units in sequential order.

• Delivers product to the assigned shipping lane in a timely manner.

• Removes empty pallets from the selection slots and places them in the designated pallet storage area.

• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.

• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device.

• Takes inventory of materials on the work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment requiring constant walking, ascending/descending stairs or pallet jack platform, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying.

• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -30 F to 100+F.

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.

• Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).

• Shrink wrap/stretch wrap equipment

• Box cutter

• Internet, email, and other applications

• Knowledge of WMS RF system of inventory
