Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood is hiring a Seafood Puller in Fort Lauderdale. Responsibilities include accurately selecting orders, scanning items with RF devices, labeling cases, and transporting products using pallet jacks and forklifts.

The role requires reading and communicating in English, working in a fast-paced warehouse, and complying with safety rules. The position offers full-time hours, with starting pay of $16 per hour and benefits after 30 days, including medical and dental coverage,

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Warehouse experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Read batches of printed case labels to select orders efficiently.
• Retrieve products from designated slots and scan for accuracy.
• Attach labels to cases and move products using pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Deliver products to shipping lanes and manage pallets and loading equipment.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness and support team needs as required.

Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device.Takes inventory of materials on the work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment requiring constant walking, ascending/descending stairs or pallet jack platform, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying.Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -30 F to 100+F.Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).Equipment / Tools / Technology:Radio Frequency handheld computerPallet jacks, hand trucks, Cherry Picker, ForkliftShrink wrap/stretch wrap equipmentBox cutterInternet, email, and other applicationsKnowledge of WMS RF system of inventoryAbility to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.BE PART OF AN AMAZING CULTURE WHERE WHAT MATTERS TO YOU, MATTERS TO US!Halperns' Steak & Seafood values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
