Job summary

Northeast Grocery is seeking a dedicated Seafood Department Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations, ordering, training, and display of all seafood products. You will work to ensure accurate inventory, budget adherence, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced grocery environment.

The role requires overseeing programs, maintaining sanitation standards, and coordinating with store leadership to optimize sales and service in the seafood department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic computer skills and reliable communication.
• Satisfactory performance reviews requested.
• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order all seafood product merchandise and supplies, including fresh and frozen items.
• Train and schedule new seafood associates and communicate store rules.
• Oversee special programs (fried fish, marina, demos) in the seafood dept.
• Maintain department budgets, inventory, payroll, and wrap activities.
• Demonstrate product knowledge to customers and assist with orders.
• Keep workstation neat per 5S standards and manage displays.
• Ensure inventory control for fresh and frozen products.
• Display and arrange all department displays and signage.
• Enforce sanitation procedures and company policies.
• Operate computer-based ordering system and daily ice display.
• Monitor shrink and perform related duties as assigned.

Job description

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the seafood department. Ensures the budgeting and financial aspects of the seafood department are realized. Oversees clerks within department and monitors for proper merchandising, rotation and inventory levels of product to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all customer orders are processed efficiently and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for ordering all seafood product merchandise and supplies to include fresh product, frozen product, wrap and all other necessary items. Must learn product movement history and apply to accurate ordering.
• Ensure the proper training and scheduling of all new associates within the seafood department. Responsible for communicating all rules and regulations of the company to all Seafood associates.
• Responsible for the operation of all special programs within the Seafood department to include the fried fish program, the marina program and all demo programs.
• Responsible for seafood department record keeping and adherence to predetermined budgets (i.e.: financial aspects, payroll, wrap).
• Display and express a complete knowledge of all seafood products to the customer.
• Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times.
• Responsible for ensuring the inventory control of both fresh and frozen products.
• Responsible for presentation of and outlays of all displays for entire department.
• Ensure a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times within the seafood department (includes accuracy of special orders such as shrimp platters).
• Ensure that all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations.
• Maintain all factors of the computer generated ordering system.
• Ensure ice display is set to correct standards on a daily basis.
• Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age.Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Satisfactory performance reviews. Strong communication skills. Basic Computer skills. High School Degree or equivalent. 3 + years of related experience. Successful completion of the most recent certification program is strongly preferred and required within 6 months if selected for the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to Cold Environment Frequent 3-5 Hours

Squatting/Kneeling Occasional 1-3 Hours

Lifting Frequent 3-5 Hours up to 50lbs

Lifting Occasional 1-3 Hours up to 75lbs
