Job summary

Price Chopper is seeking an individual to assist in the Seafood Department, delivering fast, friendly service and helping with merchandising, displays, and inventory management. The role includes ordering seafood products, supporting the seafood manager with records and payroll, and ensuring proper sanitation and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 6–12 months of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the seafood department, including merchandising, preparation, displays and inventory levels.
• Assist with ordering seafood products and supplies, and maintain ordering when the seafood manager is absent.
• Support the seafood manager with record-keeping, including financial aspects and payroll.
• Ensure accuracy of special orders and maintain correct seafood ice displays.
• Ensure sanitation procedures are followed by all associates and train/new scheduling as needed.
• Read daily emails and implement directions from Seafood Merchandising.
• Perform suggestive selling, sampling and PA announcements.

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for assisting with the operation of the Seafood Department. Assists the Seafood Manager with budgeting and financial aspects of the seafood dept. Oversees clerks within department and monitors for proper merchandising, rotation and inventory levels of product to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all customer orders are processed efficiently and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistently to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request.
Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation at all times.
Responsible for assisting with the day to day operation of the seafood department to include product merchandising, preparation, arrangements, displays and inventory levels.
Assist with ordering all seafood product merchandise and supplies. Must be able to maintain product ordering in absence of the seafood manager.
Responsible for assisting the seafood manager with the seafood department record keeping (i.e.: financial aspects, payroll, wrap).
Ensure a high level of customer service and courtesy at all times within the seafood department (includes accuracy of special orders such as shrimp platters).
Responsible for setting seafood ice display to correct corporate standards.
Ensure that all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations.
Assist Seafood Manager with the training and scheduling of all new associates within the seafood department.
Responsible for reading daily e-mail communications from Seafood Merchandising and communicating/implementing those directions.
Perform suggestive selling, sampling and PA announcements.
Learn and maintain computer generated ordering system.
Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Satisfactory performance reviews.

High School Degree or equivalent. 6-12 months of related experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to Hot Environment Frequent 3-5 hours
