Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Seafood Team Member in Ridgewood, NJ to provide counter service, stock, and maintain sanitation in the seafood department. The role focuses on friendly, efficient customer interaction, adherence to health and safety regulations, and supporting store programs and initiatives.

Primary duties include case maintenance, pricing accuracy, inventory checks, and assisting with sampling programs while upholding WFM standards and quality goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to sell proactively.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.
• Maintains accurate department signage and pricing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Maintains a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment.
• Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
