Job summary

Cosentino's Price Chopper in Ottawa, KS is seeking a part-time Seafood Clerk to assist customers, cut and serve seafood products, and maintain freshness and display standards. The role reports to the Seafood Manager and requires a food handling permit within 14 days and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities include weighing and pricing items, rotating stock, and ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed. Training under Cosentino Learning Plan is provided.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training per Cosentino Learning Plan.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines for proper seafood cutting and preparation.
• Monitor expiration dates and rotate products.
• Remove damaged or unsaleable items and process damage claims.
• Accurately count and record merchandise during inventory.
• Update shelf tags and price markers on displays.
• Answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Assist customers at the counter by weighing, wrapping and pricing items.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards to achieve team goals.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when needed.
• Maintain Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Unload shipments and stock them in designated areas without damage.
• Neatly stock shelves with front-facing products and clear labeling.
• Keep work area clean and maintain overall store safety and sanitation.
