Description: Seafood Clerk
Position Objective: To assist customers by receiving, cutting, and serving seafood efficiently, friendly, and courteously.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Seafood Manager.
Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge

Certifications, education, or training requirements include:

  • Food handling permit within first 14 days of employment.
  • Ongoing training as per Cosentino Learning Plan.

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills
Essential Job Functions
  • Follow proper techniques for cutting/preparing seafood.
  • Monitor product expiration dates and rotate stock.
  • Identify and handle damaged or un-saleable items.
  • Count and record inventory accurately.
  • Update shelf tags and price markers efficiently.
  • Answer customer questions knowledgeably and courteously.
  • Assist customers with weighing, wrapping, and pricing.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally.
  • Implement and uphold customer service standards.
  • Unload, sort, and stock shipments carefully.
  • Stock shelves neatly, ensuring items are front-facing.
  • Keep work area clean and safe.
  • Comply with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Use basic math and reading skills.
Non-Essential Job Functions

Physical Abilities

Must be able to:
