Job summary

Tamura-Enterprises in Wahiawa, Hawaii, is seeking a dedicated Seafood Clerk to join our store team. You will handle seafood products, perform trimming, packing, labeling, and maintain clean work areas.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any food-handler certification or training required by applicable law or company policy.

Responsibilities

• Uses knives or other equipment to open cases of frozen/fresh seafood and prepare the product for consumer use.
• Inspects products for bruises, freezer burns, or other defects.
• Cuts and trims selected items for packaging and accurately weighing and applying labels to products for retail sale.
• Performs cleaning duties to keep tables, trays, displays and the work counter area clean, orderly, and sanitary at all times.
• Follows required food sanitation regulations when handling and storing food products throughout the day.
• Follows proper timekeeping procedures to accurately record hours worked.

Seafood clerks work in the seafood/meat area of the store. They use hand tools to perform routine cutting, trimming, and packing of seafood for consumer use. Additional duties may be assigned to facilitate store operations and to promote customer service.
