Job summary

Louisiana State University invites applications for a Sea Grant Scholar position to advise and conduct research in collaboration with Louisiana Sea Grant. The role focuses on education programs, competitive research projects, and partnerships with the commercial blue industry along Louisiana's coast.

The scholar will coordinate with partners and federal agencies, support outreach, and help capture institutional knowledge through multimedia projects under the direction of the program director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 7 years related experience required.
  • Experience in the key responsibilities noted is encouraged.
  • Master's degree and extensive experience with Louisiana crab industry and water quality preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory and training to Sea Grant on education programs and research projects.
  • Facilitate coordination between Sea Grant, partners, and federal agencies.
  • Assist in exploring program needs with the director and create materials or media to capture institutional knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Sea Grant Scholar Position

Job Summary

Advisory and research role for Louisiana Sea Grant including work with commercial blue industry. Provide institutional knowledge, partnerships, and feedback with research needs across the northshore coastal communities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and/or training to Sea Grant on education programs, competitive research projects, and the commercial fishing industries (35%)
  • Facilitate coordination between Louisiana Sea Grant with partners and federal agencies like Adopt a Pond (35%)
  • Work with director to explore MEP needs. Assist in projects like videos to capture institutional knowledge (25%)
  • Other duties as assigned (5%)
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree & 7 years related experience.
