Job summary

JITECH, based in Miami, is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer to develop accurate 3D models, fabrication and erection drawings using SDS2, and provide material information for fabrication and erection activities. You will collaborate with modelers, checkers, and project engineers within the Project Execution team to ensure consistency and timely delivery while applying detailing standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of structural steel detailing experience, proficiency with SDS2

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, Drafting, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel detailing.
• Experience using SDS2 for modeling and detailing.
• Experience preparing shop and erection drawings and material take-offs.
• Ability to read structural and architectural drawings and contract documents.
• Familiarity with AISC 360-22, AWS D1.1:2020, and IBC requirements is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, and Planner.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for drawing review.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Generate and edit fabrication shop drawings for steel fabricators.
• Review drawings and documents to understand detailing requirements.
• Maintain consistency between contract documents and detailing deliverables.
• Create and update erection drawings to support field assembly.
• Support erection drawing development based on schedules.
• Prepare material take-offs and related project information.
• Coordinate detailing with modelers, checkers, and project team members.
• Incorporate project changes and revisions into drawings.
• Update drawings reflecting changes and maintain accuracy.
• Address checking comments and corrections in a timely manner.
• Maintain organized project information and follow detailing standards.
• Take ownership and support continuous improvement of detailing quality.
