Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools in Virginia seeks a Specialist of Specially Designed Instruction (SDIS) to strengthen SDI across the division. You will partner with administrators and SLSTs to build educator capacity and improve instructional systems for students with disabilities.

The role includes coaching, modeling, and delivering professional learning on SDI, inclusive practices, and co-teaching. Must hold Virginia special education licensure and have several years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Partner with school administrators, SLSTs, and instructional staff to assess the implementation of SDI and co-teaching; identify growth areas; develop targeted action plans for improved outcomes.
• Collaborate with school teams to analyze instructional, progress-monitoring, and student achievement data; conduct root cause analyses; set measurable outcomes; monitor effectiveness of actions.
• Provide job-embedded instructional coaching, modeling, and consultation to strengthen SDI, co-teaching, and interventions that support access to the curriculum.
• Design, facilitate, and evaluate professional learning and technical assistance on SDI, inclusive practices, and co-teaching.
