Job summary

Washington State Department of Ecology is seeking an experienced SDET/QA Engineer to support testing for the EAGL IGX grant and loan management platform. This contract role will focus on functional testing, defect verification, validation of fixes, and Playwright test automation development.

The selected candidate will work remotely with business users, developers, and the software vendor to ensure quality and readiness of the platform, using Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Verify, reproduce, document, and triage defects reported by business users.
• Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and project teams to investigate and validate issues.
• Validate vendor-provided defect fixes in development, pre-production, and production environments.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Playwright automated test scripts.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, and configuration testing.
• Create and manage test cases, defects, and work items using Azure DevOps.
• Perform production validation and post-release verification activities.
• Prepare test reports, defect verification logs, and validation documentation.
• Participate in status meetings and provide testing progress updates.
• Develop knowledge transfer documents, testing procedures, and maintenance documentation.
• Support project closeout activities and provide recommendations for future improvements.

This role will focus on functional testing, defect verification, validation of fixes, and Playwright test automation development.

The selected candidate will work closely with business users, developers, and the software vendor to ensure the quality, reliability, and business readiness of the platform. The engagement will utilize Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and reporting. This is a remote opportunity with a duration of approximately four months
