Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking an experienced SDET II to design and implement automated testing for subscription and streaming experiences across PlayStation platforms. You will own test strategy, collaborate with engineers, and contribute to CI/CD integration.

You must have 3+ years of testing experience, proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, strong API/UI testing skills, and familiarity with CI/CD tools. This role offers growth in a dynamic hardware/software ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test, Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Test Automation.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Swift.
• Experience developing automated tests and with test automation frameworks.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services, web apps, or native mobile apps.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and automation strategies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and modern development practices.
• Experience debugging failures and collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve automated testing solutions for subscription services, applications, and connected platforms.
• Take ownership of quality engineering activities for assigned features from test planning through automation and release validation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams early to identify quality risks and determine effective testing approaches.
• Develop reusable automation tools and framework capabilities to improve test coverage and reliability.
• Validate end-to-end customer journeys involving authentication, commerce, entitlements, and streaming experiences.
• Build automated tests for APIs, backend services, web applications, and mobile platforms.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve test execution reliability.
• Investigate complex failures and collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to quality metrics, dashboards, and release-readiness reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing practices and reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams on integration testing and release qualification.
• Explore AI-assisted testing to improve workflows.
