Job summary

Amazon is seeking Software Development Engineer interns/co-ops in Nashville to tackle real customer problems with scalable cloud-based services. You will own code end-to-end, collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians, and contribute to AI-powered tooling while expanding your skills in a fast-paced environment.

Interns will work 40 hours/week typically 8am-5pm, with location and start dates discussed during application.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative products and services for customers
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a large distributed environment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective
• Leverage GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and on-call responsibilities
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues
• Design, develop, and test software components interacting with robotics, vision, and cloud services
