Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture of systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of designing and developing large‑scale distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of one or more services in the Stream Management portfolio; write design docs and drive them to implementation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and applied scientists to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Ensure backend systems are highly available, scalable, and secure at AWS scale.
• Apply backend best practices including testing, performance optimization, observability, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with other AWS service teams to integrate shared services and deliver consistent AWS service experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, design reviews, and on‑call rotations.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, metrics, alarms, and runbooks.
• Lead post‑incident investigations for high‑severity events and drive actions to completion.
