Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Santa Clara is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the EC2 Nitro local storage team. You will build hardware-accelerated, virtualization-focused software powering EC2 disk instances at global scale.

You will work across the full stack from low-level optimization to high-level frameworks in a Linux environment, with emphasis on performance, security, and scalability. A strong emphasis on collaboration and mentorship is included.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of design or architecture experience (patterns, reliability and scaling) in systems.
• 5+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 5+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Build virtualized, hardware-accelerated solutions for EC2 disk instances at global scale.
• Contribute across the full stack from low-level hardware optimization to high-level frameworks.
• Engage in Linux packaging, version control, automated builds and unit testing.
