Job summary

Amazon GuardDuty seeks a Software Development Engineer with strong distributed systems knowledge to design and build security services at AWS scale. You will work on complex systems handling terabytes of daily data, contribute to on-call rotations, and mentor junior engineers.

This role offers growth through mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to security analytics, machine learning concepts, and high-availability services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex security services for AWS.
• Manage oncall once in 2 to 3 months for a week (which is very light for this team).
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support other team members in reviews.
• Foster innovation and handle ambiguous problems and turn them into opportunities.
