Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle seeks a Software Development Engineer with strong distributed systems experience to build new security services for GuardDuty.

You will design and implement scalable systems that process vast logs and detect threats, while collaborating with senior engineers and researchers. Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex security services for AWS.
• Manage oncall once in 2 to 3 months for a week (very light for this team).
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support other team members in reviews.
• Foster innovation and turn ambiguous problems into opportunities.
