Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated is seeking a Scrum Master I in Charlotte, NC to build high-performing agile teams. You will coach and enable self-organizing teams, collaborate with product owners and stakeholders, and help adopt agile practices to maximize value delivery.

You will support the IT Director with coaching and process improvements, facilitate Scrum events, and ensure transparency and continuous improvement across the team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the product owner to review work requested by the business stakeholders and set priorities for 2-3 sprints of groomed work.
• Facilitates Scrum events and backslog grooming; coaches teams to self-organize and self-manage.
• Coaches team discussions, decision making and conflict resolution focusing on scrum values.
• Shields team from distractions and removes impediments the team cannot resolve themselves.
• Ensures the team has everything they need to be successful.
• Ensures goals, scope and Product Backlog are fully understood by the team.
• Educates and enacts Scrum theory of empiricism and transparency pillars.
• Tracks velocity, burndown charts, cycle time, and reports progress to leadership.

Job Overview

The Scrum Master I is responsible for creating successful teams with strong skills in self-organization and cross-functionality and a drive for continuous improvement. They support product owners in creating a transparent Product Backlog and maximizing the value of delivered outcomes. The Scrum Master I also supports business and IT leaders to adapt processes, procedures, culture, and behavior needed for successful agile delivery. Scrum Master I position requires high level of coaching and support from the IT Director.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the product owner to review work requested by the business stakeholders, as well as technical work needed to set priorities and to ensure there are 2-3 sprints of groomed (ready) work
• Assists in the facilitation of some Scrum events (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective), Backlog Grooming, and coaches team(s) to become self-organizing and self-managing
• Assists with facilitating and coaching team discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution focusing on scrum values (focus, openness, respect, courage, and commitment)
• Shields team from work requests and distractions outside of the team's sprint work and removes impediments the team cannot resolve themselves
• Ensures the team has everything they need to be successful
• Ensures goals, scope, and Product Backlog are fully understood by the team
• Supports the team by enacting and educating everyone on the Scrum theory of empiricism and pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaption
• Tracks team metrics such as Velocity, Burndown charts, Cycle time, etc. to coach team for continuous improvement, as well as tracks and reports progress and value delivery to Business and IT leadership

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
• Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities as a servant leader; strong issue resolution and facilitation skills
• Ability to influence various levels throughout the organization
• Knowledge of software development processes and procedures, agile metrics
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inTechnology, Business, or related field
• Professional Scrum Master certification

Work Environment

• Office Environment.
• This position will sit in office 4 days a week at our corporate offices in Charlotte, NC
