Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC in San Jose, CA seeks an experienced Scrum Master to support the Tolling (E-ZPASS) delivery team. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, maintain team alignment, and ensure transparent progress, risks, and priorities.

You will work with the Development Manager, Azure DevOps, backlog management, and metrics reporting to drive continuous improvement. Strong communication and Scrum mastery are essential; CSM is required, PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile development teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile values, principles, and Scrum frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile work management tools.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is required; PMP preferred.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support VDOT's Tolling (E-ZPASS) delivery team by facilitating Agile ceremonies, maintaining team alignment, and ensuring transparency in project progress, risks, and priorities.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and Azure DevOps, along with experience in backlog management, delivery reporting, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

This role combines Agile facilitation with hands-on delivery operations, including DevOps work item creation, tracking project metrics, identifying blockers, and supporting continuous process improvement. The Scrum Master will work closely with the Development Manager to ensure smooth project execution and effective team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain team alignment with Agile values, principles, and delivery objectives.
• Support continuous improvement and Agile process effectiveness.
• Maintain project backlogs, work items, and dashboards using Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Create, update, and refine Azure DevOps cards and supporting documentation.
• Ensure accurate tracking of tasks, priorities, and delivery progress.

3. Project Tracking & Reporting:

• Monitor and report Agile delivery metrics, including velocity and burndown.
• Track project status, risks, dependencies, blockers, and action items.
• Maintain accurate and timely project reports and dashboards.
• Ensure transparency and visibility into team progress.

4. Documentation & Coordination:

• Document meeting discussions, decisions, action items, and project updates.
• Coordinate dependencies and activities across multiple teams.
• Collaborate regularly with the Development Manager to support project execution.
• Perform initial investigation and analysis before escalating issues.

5. Risk Management & Process Improvement:

• Identify potential risks, issues, and delivery blockers.
• Support risk mitigation and issue resolution activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend practical solutions.
• Assist with Agile maturity initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile development teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile values, principles, and Scrum frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile work management tools.
• Experience with backlog management, work item creation, and sprint tracking.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery metrics, including velocity, burndown, risks, and blockers.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to coordinate dependencies and work across multiple teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is required.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
• Familiarity with Agile maturity initiatives and organizational Agile transformations.
• Experience supporting delivery managers and cross-functional development teams.
