Job summary

Inadev seeks a Scrum Master to lead one or more agile teams in a primarily Reston, VA area with a hybrid work option. The candidate should coordinate with data engineers, data scientists, and developers to ensure timely delivery of complex data-driven projects for federal and commercial clients.

Responsibilities include leading scrum ceremonies, roadmapping, SDLC activities, and close collaboration with the Product Owner to write and refine user stories, estimates, and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline and 5 years of pertinent experience as a Scrum Master.
• Extensive experience working within Agile Frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Basic understanding of public cloud environments.
• Proficient in creating status reports (Sprint/Release charts, dashboards, risks).
• Ability to manage more than one team.
• Daily collaboration with the team to ensure timely delivery.
• Ability to generate reports in JIRA showing who is working on what.
• Act as liaison between development team and stakeholders as needed.
• Time estimates for tasks and stories must be reasonable and accurate.
• Excellent communication for non-technical stakeholders and effective visualizations.

Responsibilites

• Acts as the scrum master for the team and runs one or more scrum teams that consist of Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Systems Architects, Application Developers, Automation Testers, DevOps Engineers, and Data Analysts.
• Prepare integrated roadmaps and project schedule for upcoming and future priorities.
• Performs systems development lifecycle activities including analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of products, information systems, and business processes in a variety of technical environments.
• Follow best practices, develop, and improve upon procedures consistent with task requirements, using analytical thinking and communication techniques to rapidly assimilate various types of information and identify which are relevant.
• Assist with requirements and prioritization activities including elicitation, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of products, information systems, and business processes in a data environment.
• Work closely with experienced analysts or project leaders to seek guidance and added instructions.
• Participate in strategic planning and evaluate and recommend technical solutions.
• Evaluates problems of workflows, organization, and technology and helps the team develop appropriate corrective action
• Be the Subject-Matter Expert (SME) on business requirements, scrum processes, user needs, and value.
• Authority on the expected behavior of the system, including determining if a bug report is a defect or expected behavior.
• Be an Expert on how to write excellent epics, user stories, tasks, spikes, bugs and acceptance criteria in JIRA other scrum artifacts.
• Be able to assist the Product Owner (PO) in creating good user stories (with the assistance of the team, where necessary).
• Review/Write/edit user stories and acceptance criteria when the PO is not able to.
• Own the "Definition of Done", with the team's assistance on the "Definition of Done".
• Work closely with the developers and the test engineers to come to an agreement on the acceptance criteria for all user stories.
• Own the prioritization of stories (the PO sets the priorities; the BA owns that the list is accurate).
• Ensure that the team is meeting the deadlines set by Office of Information Technology (OIT).
• Be a gatekeeper of Quality.
• Ensure the requirements are clear enough to test and edge cases have been addressed.
• Lead the way and set a great example of checking that stories meet the Acceptance Criteria, are well done, and meet the "Definition of Done."
• Conduct all agile scrum ceremonies

Requirements NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have the ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance.
• Must be open to working during Eastern Standard Time business hours to meet customer requirements.
• Must currently reside in the Continental United States.
• This position is 100% remote for candidates outside the DC/MD/Northern Virginia area. Candidates local to the DC/MD/Northern Virginia area must be willing to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week) in Reston, VA, and at client sites throughout the DC/MD/Northern Virginia region, as needed.
• Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance

Mandatory Requirements

• Must possess a basic understanding of public cloud environments
• Extremely proficient in creating status reports to include but not limited to Sprint Status, Release Status, burndown and burnup charts, sprint dashboards, roadmaps, risks, mitigation & issues.
• Ability to manage more than one team.
• Works closely with the team on a daily basis to ensure that the tasks are delivered on time.
• Must be able to provide reports on who is working on what at any point in time using JIRA.
• Acts as a liaison between the development team and the stakeholders as needed and requested.
• Proficient in working with the team in creating reasonable and accurate time estimates for assigned tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to be able to interact directly with non-technical client stakeholders and act in a business-to-technical translation role, including generating effective visualizations.
