Job summary

New Millennium Consulting in New York, NY seeks a Scrum Master / Project Manager for a contract W-2 role. You will facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, and partner with Product Owners to keep the backlog ready for sprints.

Onsite three days per week, with strong IT and software development background. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years in IT, PMP and cyber security knowledge, and holds or is pursuing Agile certifications (CSM/PSM/ PMI-ACP).

Qualifications

• 3-4 years IT industry experience including development work and customer interaction.
• PMP Certification and Cyber Security knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Active certifications such as CSM, PSM I/II, or PMI-ACP preferred.
• 3 years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master for software teams.
• Previous experience as a software developer to understand technical discussions.
• Proficient with Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools XLDeploy/XLRelease.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and Agile values/principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Identify and remove blockers to team progress (technical, organizational, interpersonal).
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine the backlog for upcoming sprints.
• Track velocity, burndown/burnup charts and other metrics to plan and communicate progress.
• Shield the team from distractions, scope creep, and interruptions during sprints.
• Facilitate retrospectives resulting in actionable improvements.
• Demonstrate strong Agile knowledge of Scrum and Kanban.

A global bank is seeking a Scrum Master with prior experience as a software developer (to help understand technical discussions and hurdles). Using Agile project management tools (e.g., "Jira, Confluence, CI/CD XLDeploy/XLRelease"), the Scrum Master will partner closely with Product Owners to help manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for upcoming sprints.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitation & Ceremonies: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure these events are productive, collaborative, and strictly time-boxed.

Servant Leadership: Support the Scrum team by identifying, tracking, and actively removing blockers or impediments to their progress (technical, organizational, or interpersonal).

Product Owner Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners to help manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for upcoming sprints.

**Agile Metrics & Reporting:**Track and communicate team velocity, burndown/burnup charts, and other relevant metrics to help the team plan predictably and transparently communicate progress to stakeholders.

Shield the Team: Protect the development team from external distractions, scope creep, and unvetted interruptions during active sprints.

Continuous Improvement: Facilitate meaningful retrospectives that result in actionable, continuous improvement items for the subsequent sprint.

Skills:

• 3-4 years Experience in the IT industry, including development work and customer interaction
