AAC is seeking a Scrum Master for a position working remote for our client in Columbia, SC.

Primary Function:

The Scrum Master is self-motivated and serves as a highly organized team leader responsible for leading and managing a team of technical professionals in all aspects of Agile\Scrum practices. The Scrum Master provides a single point of contact for all Scrum team related activities and information with respect to applications or products assigned to the Scrum team. The Scrum Master must possess the ability to understand, translate, and apply Agile concepts into effective business processes at the Client. An effective Scrum Master is able to make the transition from concept and principles to effective behavior-based application of leadership skills that support the line of business products, different business models, and technology architecture / environments unique to specific lines of business.

Daily Duties/Responsibilities:

Leadership and Influence

The Scrum Master develops and maintains an expert level of understanding and execution of Scrum and Agile Project Management principles and practices. The Scrum Master protects the team from disruptions and helps to provide external leadership to the team to protect the team’s interests and priorities. An effective Scrum Master understands the team’s dynamics, how to engage the technical, business, and management leaders to ensure the team is appropriately formed and performing at an acceptable level. An effective Scrum master uses expert judgment and discernment to ask the ‘Why’ questions to guide and challenge ideas, concepts, and estimates.

Coordination/Collaboration/Communication

The Scrum Master works closely with Product Owners and BAs to establish acceptance criteria for all user stories. The Scrum Master must understand the nature of the work, provide constructive feedback and engage with the Product Owners and Team Members. The Scrum Master works closely with BA/testers to ensure that all user stories are expresses in terms that are valuable to the customer, and ensures that the backlog is prioritized, estimated, scheduled, and business value is captured. The Scrum Master is an effective communicator that brings teams together and yields positive results by using tactical communication skills to resolve conflicts, identify risks, and manage competing objectives and priorities.

The Scrum Master has the ability to write narratives, summaries, and simplifies complex issues into understandable business language, as well as leading the Scrum Team in communication efforts related to the team’s priorities, product roadmap, sprint planning, daily planning, retrospectives, and product owner interactions. The Scrum Master has the ability to create and assist with presentations for a diverse group of stakeholders, conduct themselves in a professional manner, articulate concepts in simple terms, and collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Scrum teams to coordinate larger distributed projects.

System Development Life Cycle

The Scrum Master is responsible for adherence to all Agile\Scrum standards as referenced in Client’s SDLC standards.

As needed, the Scrum Master engages vendors and manages solution evaluation and selection including RFI, RFP, and publishes comparative third party evaluations. The Scrum Master works with and leads internal departments to secure fully executed contracts.

Analytical Skills

An effective Scrum Master monitors key metrics and feedback to lead, drive, influence, and mold the team into a high performing and responsive unit that produces high quality output. The Scrum Master also uses Analytical skills to understand the Product roadmap, vision, and trade-offs between short-term and long-term goals. The Scrum Master participates in Epic and User Story definition and dependencies.

BC/SOW – Product Roadmap Development

The Scrum Master develops Business Cases and/or assists other project teams in the development of BC\SOW or Product Roadmaps to support the business refine the product life cycle.

Requirements:

No less than 5 years of related work experience.

Other Skills and Abilities:

· Thorough knowledge of Agile\Scrum\Kanban principles

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team and management.

· Focuses on customer service, demonstrating a positive influence on cross-team working relationships

· Works to refine knowledge and skills

· Influences others and leads by example

· Able to manage competing demands sim; excellent organizational skills

Education Requirements:

Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or other related field.
