Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to lead agile delivery across customer-facing SaaS/platform teams in a remote US setting. You will independently own all Scrum ceremonies, coach teams on agile values, and drive continuous improvement with Delivery Managers and PDLs.

Strong facilitation and Jira/Confluence skills are required. Responsibilities include managing dependencies, surfacing delivery risks, and fostering psychological safety for high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as Scrum Master or agile facilitator for delivery teams.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience coaching teams on Scrum principles and agile values.

Responsibilities

• Independently own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (standups, planning, reviews, retros).
• Escalate blockers and manage dependencies with delivery partners.
• Coach teams on Scrum values and practices adapted to team maturity.
• Support PDLs/DMs with applying agile practices within teams.
• Own agile health metrics: velocity, cycle time, sprint goal achievement.
• Provide data-driven retrospectives and continuous improvement insights.

Senior Scrum Master of Agile Delivery Manager

2+ years of Scrum Master or agile facilitation experience with a delivery team.

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
• Demonstrated ability to coach teams on Scrum principles and agile values.
• Experience independently facilitating retrospectives, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily standups.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent agile tools.
• Ability to independently support one to two teams of moderate complexity through full sprint cycles.
• CSP-SM, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PSM II certification preferred.
• Experience working on customer-facing SaaS or platform delivery teams preferred.
• Familiarity with retail technology, POS systems, or loyalty platforms preferred.
• Background in agile coaching, lean practices, or continuous delivery preferred.
• Experience managing cross-team dependencies and collaborating with Product Delivery Leads (PDLs), Delivery Managers (DMs), and delivery partners.

Agile Ceremony Ownership & Facilitation

• Independently own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Escalate blockers appropriately and urgently when resolution requires organizational support.
• Manage dependencies across the internal team and delivery partners.

Agile Coaching & Team Development

• Coach the team on Scrum values, principles, and practices, tailoring the approach to team maturity and context.
• Help the team internalize agile values rather than simply follow agile processes.
• Support PDLs and DMs in applying agile practices effectively within the team context.
• Provide informal coaching to Associate Scrum Masters when opportunities arise and contribute improvement ideas across the Scrum Master team.

Own team-level agile health metrics, including velocity, sprint goal achievement, cycle time, and predictability.

• Proactively surface delivery risks and team health concerns to leadership.
• Drive data-informed retrospectives and sprint-over-sprint improvement.
• Communicate team progress, delivery health, and impediments clearly to Delivery Managers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with PDLs on backlog readiness, refinement quality, and sprint readiness.
• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Delivery Managers on cross-team dependencies and delivery flow.

• Leverage AI tools to identify delivery risks and trends, summarize sprint and retrospective insights, improve reporting efficiency, and support data-informed continuous improvement while ensuring appropriate human review and judgment.
