Job summary

TEKsystems in Charlotte, NC seeks an expert Scrum Master to support one or more Agile teams, drive best practices, remove impediments, and enable on-time delivery. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers and cross-functional partners to establish effective processes and healthy backlogs for predictable results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery role.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives.
• Experience in SAFe or enterprise-scale Agile environments.
• Proficiency with Jira for backlog management, reporting, dashboards and delivery metrics.
• Experience leveraging Agile flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, WIP, predictability).
• Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, impediments and cross-team coordination.
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience producing executive-level status reporting using PowerPoint and Excel.
• Servant leadership with coaching and continuous improvement focus.
• At least 1 year of experience with AI initiatives (Microsoft Copilot or similar).

Position Summary

As a Scrum Master supporting one or more Agile teams, you will be responsible for facilitating team execution, removing impediments, driving Agile best practices, and enabling teams to deliver against business commitments. You will work closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, Agile Coaches, and cross-functional partners to establish effective delivery processes, maintain healthy backlogs, manage dependencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role is well suited for a hands-on Agile practitioner who enjoys building new teams, coaching individuals and teams, and helping organizations improve delivery predictability, quality, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and team-level planning activities.
• Partner with Change practitioners on Release management activities, maintaining end-to-end visibility/responsibility for team change execution.
• Partner with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritized, and well-groomed backlog aligned to business objectives and delivery commitments.
• Establish and mature Agile delivery practices for newly formed teams while promoting continuous improvement and team accountability.
• Monitor team flow and delivery health through Agile metrics such as cycle time, throughput, work in progress (WIP), predictability, and sprint outcomes.
• Identify, track, and remove impediments by coordinating with cross-functional teams, leadership, and support organizations.
• Manage risks, issues, and dependencies while helping teams navigate enterprise change management and governance requirements.
• Provide clear and timely status updates to stakeholders and leadership regarding delivery plans, milestones, risks, and impediments.
• Maintain transparency through effective use of Agile tooling, dashboards, reporting, and team communication practices.
• Coach teams, leaders, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe practices, and servant leadership behaviors.
• Support Program Increment (PI) planning and other Agile Release Train activities in partnership with Release Train Engineers and Agile Coaches.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile practitioner, or comparable Agile delivery role.
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Experience supporting Agile teams within a SAFe or enterprise-scale Agile environment.
• Proficiency with Jira for backlog management, reporting, dashboards, and delivery metrics.
• Experience leveraging Agile flow metrics, including cycle time, throughput, work in progress (WIP), predictability, and delivery trends.
• Demonstrated ability to manage risks, dependencies, impediments, and cross-team coordination activities.
• Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience producing executive-level status reporting and delivery updates using tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
• Servant leadership mindset with a focus on coaching, team development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• At least 1 year of experience working with AI-related initiatives, preferably utilizing Microsoft Copilot or similar AI capabilities.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience helping establish and mature newly formed Agile teams.
• Experience with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus.
• Familiarity with Jira Align and enterprise planning processes.
• Experience working in regulated environments with governance, risk, compliance, or change management requirements.
• Understanding of DevOps practices, quality engineering concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery approaches.
• Ability to connect delivery outcomes with business objectives, product goals, and operational metrics.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without formal authority.
• Experience supporting Agile Release Train planning, coordination, and execution activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $74.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
