Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years in Agile environments with at least 2 years as Scrum Master.
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or equivalent certification (CSM/PSM).
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Lean principles.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a skilled and motivated Scrum Master to support Agile software development teams on a mission-critical government program. As a servant leader and coach, you will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, support team performance, and drive continuous improvement across Agile teams. This mid-level role requires someone who is passionate about Agile values and practices, excels at removing impediments, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your work will help ensure the successful delivery of high-impact technology solutions for our government client.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Coach team members on Agile practices and principles to improve team effectiveness and maturity
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure clarity and prioritization of the product backlog
  • Actively identify, track, and help remove team impediments and organizational blockers
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Track and communicate key Agile metrics such as velocity, team capacity, and sprint burndown
  • Support cross-team coordination and help manage dependencies with other teams and stakeholders
  • Promote Agile best practices, tailoring them as needed to meet team and project goals
  • Serve as a point of contact for Agile process questions and guidance
Basic Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, technology, or related field of studies
  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile environments, with at least 2 years as a Scrum Master
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or equivalent Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PSM)
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles
  • Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and guiding teams through sprints
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Rally, or VersionOne
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Demonstrated experience in helping teams identify and resolve impediments
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post‑employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in government or large-scale enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and their integration into Agile workflows
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a focus on delivering measurable results
  • Experience managing risks and dependencies in a multi-team environment
  • Proven ability to mentor and support Agile team development and growth
