Position Title: Scrub Technician II, Outpatient Pavilion Job Description
Purpose & Scope:
The OR Scrub Technician is accountable for the technical functions related to the patient's perioperative experience. The functions of this role include preparing the OR environment, equipment, instrumentation, and supply utilization. He/she is responsible to the circulating RN and works in concert with the philosophy and goals of the department.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
Three years of scrub experience is required.
Certification/Licensure:
Licensed Surgical Technologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required. Certification in Surgical Technology is required. BLS certification is required.

Working Conditions:
Works in a well-lighted/ventilated office/clinical setting. Subject to frequent interruptions. Subject to long hours, changing shifts. May be required to work beyond normal working hours when requested to do so, e.g., overtime, on call. Routine occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, noxious odors, latex, and/or musculoskeletal injuries.
