Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. seeks a Surgical/Scrub Tech for a per diem role on the Surgery Unit in Sparks, NV. The position focuses on monitoring instrument PAR levels and pain management supplies, while cleaning and sterilizing instruments used in the OR and Pain Center.

Responsibilities include patient interaction, explanations, reassurance, and notifying licensed staff about pain. Per diem status allows a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification within 6 months of hire or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Main OR experience preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.

Job Summary:

This Surgical/Scrub Tech opportunity is per diem on our Surgery Unit and offers a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic Surgical/Scrub Tech that will monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and Pain management supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments used in the OR and Pain Center. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
