Job summary

Universal Health Services in Sparks, NV is seeking a part-time Surgical/Scrub Tech for the Surgery Unit. You will monitor instrument and pain supply PAR levels, sterilize instruments, and participate in performance improvement activities.

The role involves preparing rooms with instruments, interacting with patients and families, and ensuring timely readiness for each procedure. Requires Surgical Technician Certification and BLS; OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Main OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical / pain procedure, or all anticipated endoscopes, instruments, supplies and equipment of each individual GI Lab procedure.

This Surgical/Scrub Tech opportunity is part time on our Surgery Unit and offers a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic Surgical/Scrub Tech that will monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and Pain management supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments used in the OR and Pain Center. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
