Emory Healthcare is seeking a surgical technologist to support the operating room team under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will use the patient’s plan of care to guide data collection and patient care before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program (or current scrub tech student), one year of scrub tech experience, and current BLS certification. On-call duties are included as part of the schedule.

Qualificações

• Completion of accredited surgical technology program or current enrollment in scrub tech program.
• One year scrub tech experience; education may substitute for experience.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.
• Must maintain ortho education/training as mandated in policy.

Responsabilidades

• Provide nursing care under RN supervision.
• Utilize each patient's plan of care to collect data on needs and responses.
• Assist with operative procedures using prescribed instruments and PPE.
• Attend on-call duties as required.

Work Shift:

Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, provides nursing care and completes tasks delegated for all categories of patients served. Utilizes patient's individualized plan of care in providing care and collecting data relating to patients needs and response. Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare's Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care and standards of performance. Required to take call.

Qualifications:

• Education & Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or is currently enrolled and in good standing in their last quarter of scrub tech program.
• Experience: One (1) year scrub tech experience. Education may substitute for Experience.
• Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to utilize surgical instruments, supplies and necessary equipment during surgical procedures. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment, such as gloves, gown and mask, etc.
